Etiqa Philippines Takes Part in the 5th International Islamic Finance Conference
03 FEBRUARY 2026
On February 3, Etiqa Philippines joined the 5th International Islamic Finance Conference at Shangri-La the Fort. This event brought together government officials, industry leaders, and experts to discuss the future of Islamic finance in the country.
Mr. Anthony Lou Bernabe, President and CEO of Etiqa Philippines, was a panelist in the session "Accelerating Takaful Growth: Expanding Market Access and Deepening Risk-Sharing Solutions." He talked about how important Takaful and insurance are for building national and community resilience, especially during natural disasters and crises.
He noted that while governments spend a lot on disaster response and recovery, insurance and Shariah-compliant Takaful can help share risks and reduce public spending. By encouraging more people to use these protection options, communities can recover faster and rebuild their lives, allowing government resources to be used more efficiently.
Etiqa Philippines’ participation in this conference shows its commitment to providing ethical, inclusive, and sustainable protection solutions. The company also aims to support national development through responsible risk management and financial inclusion. The conference was organized by the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos.
